First Name. Middle Name. Last Name. Do Whatever You Want in Life

You ever just wake up and feel the sunlight on your face, but it feels different? Like maybe it’s not just the sun, it’s you finally seeing yourself clearly?

That’s where I was this morning. I couldn’t tell if it was the light through my blinds or this new attitude growing in me.

I sat there thinking, we ask so much of other people. We want effort, love, understanding, energy, consistency. But what have you asked of yourself lately? And did you even follow through?

When You’re Too Busy Watching Everyone Else

We get so caught up in what other people are doing, not doing, saying, not saying , that we forget to check in with our own lane. You’ll drain your peace waiting for somebody to act like the version of them you made up in your mind.

And when they don’t, you’re disappointed. But really, that disappointment belongs to you, because you created the expectation, not them.

You can’t hand someone a vision board they didn’t sign up for.

You Don’t Belong Outside Yourself

I realized how much of my life I’ve spent paying attention to things that had nothing to do with me. It’s like giving away the best parts of your energy to something that can’t even hold it.

At some point, you gotta come home to yourself.

Even in relationships, family, marriage, friendships, they each have their box, their category. But they don’t get to take up the whole space of you. Your life is your box. You’re allowed to decorate it how you want, with boundaries, peace, quiet mornings, and your own plans.

If You Don’t Know Who You Are Yet

Picture a younger version of you still sitting inside, waiting. She’s probably tired of you ignoring her. Talk to her. Ask her what she wants to eat today. What she wants to wear. What she wants to try again. Then go do it.

Because here’s the truth: one day that sunlight hits your face and you realize you’re allowed to do whatever you want in life. You really are. You don’t need permission. You just need presence.

Let Them Feel How They Feel

The moment you stop shrinking to fit other people’s comfort, they’ll have to deal with their own emotions, confusion, disappointment, surprise, whatever it is. That’s not your business anymore.

You’ve been everyone else’s support beam for too long. Be your own foundation now.

The Only Rule

As long as you’re not hurting anyone, live. Loud, quiet, soft, bold, whatever feels like you. Better yourself. Love yourself. Think of yourself.

Ask simple things every morning:

What do I want to do today?

What do I want to eat today?

Where do I want to go today?

Then actually follow through.

Because the light isn’t just shining, it’s calling your name.
